"Well - how about makin' a cup o' tea?"
Description
Depicts soldier, wearing a tin helmet and shorts standing , surrounded by bombs and explosions, while two of his fellow soldiers cower on the ground in front of him covering their ears against the noise of the shells and explosions surrounding them all. Joseph Francis Garvey (b. 1912) was a commercial artist, cartoonist and illustrator. He enlisted in Victoria in 1940 and served during the Second World War as a Private with the 2/32 Australian Infantry Battalion in northern Australia, Labuan and Morotai until his discharge in November 1945.
