Informal portrait of Royal Australian Airforce Beaufighter crew 414975 Sergeant (Sgt) Colin Esbert Wein, of Gayndah, Queensland, pilot and 21714 Sgt Donald Clarence Kirkwood of Smithfield, NSW, navigator. Both were later promoted to Flight Sergeant and both died as a prisoner of war of the Japanese at Rabaul, New Britain on 5 March 1944.
