Balikpapan, Borneo. 2 July 1945. The beach (probably Green Beach) shortly after the landing of the 7th Division. Camp is set up, a sign in the foreground reading 'Beach Gp [Group] Advance HQ Information'. At right another sign reads 'Enquiry Centre Call Here For Information'. A covered tank, bulldozer and a truck are visible and ships lie at anchor. A group of Australian soldiers stand in the foreground. Note the pontoon jetty recently constructed by an American construction battalion. (Donor B. Ulmer)
