Description
Duropa Plantation, Papua New Guinea. 1961. Alistair McFarlane standing beside an M3 General Stuart tank. This tank is probably the vehicle commanded by Corporal Cambridge. It was disabled by a magnetic mine and burnt out in the attack on Japanese positions at Cape Endaiadere on 18 December 1942. The tank was salvaged in 1973 and is now on display at the Papua New Guinea War Museum. (Donor A. McFarlane)
