Description
Toungoo, Burma. 2 December 1944. The aerodrome being bombed at night by aircraft of No. 99 (Liberator) Squadron RAF. This excellent night photograph, one of the first obtained over Burma, shows part of the east dispersal of the aerodrome. The white streak is a fire probably in a covered shelter just off the taxi track. Smoke from a second fire among living quarters is also visible. The flashes of a bomb is recorded in the top centre and the thin dotted lines are tracer bullets from five machine guns.
