Description
Chumphon, Thailand. 22 May 1945. Since the fall of Rangoon heavy RAF Liberator aircraft of the Strategic Air Force, Eastern Air Command, have been concentrating on cutting all lines of communications for the Japanese troops retreating from south eastern Burma. Railways and bridges, rolling-stock and marshalling yards have all come under fire from the heavy bombs of Strategic Air Force. A bomb is exploding at one end of a double span steel girder bridge on the railway line between Chumphon and Singapore, while the other end of the span lies in the river bed.
