The news release reads: Royal Australian Air Force crews are in the process of flying twelve purchased C130 propjet troop and cargo carriers from Marietta, GA USA to Sydney Australia. The lift operation extending half way around the world began from the Lockheed Aircraft Plant in Georgia December 5 [1958] and will continue until the last planes are delivered early in 1959. This film shows the start of the flight by the first five aircraft. Four more planes are slated to take off around Christmas and the final three C130s will leave Georgia the early part of the new year. Australia is the first foreign nation to obtain the versatile C130, which has been in United States Air Force Service since 1956.
