Description
Darwin, NT. First Army wedding in northwest Australia. A typical camp church built of bush timber with bamboo walls was the setting for the wedding of Sister H. J. Woodhead of Adelaide, SA, and Lieutenant M. Timbs of Glen Innes, NSW. The wedding ceremony and nuptial mass was performed by Father H. J. Reid (senior Chaplain). Behind the bride who is holding rosary beads, is the bridesmaid Sister Dickman of Adelaide, SA, and Captain M. A. Garrahy of Brisbane, Qld, who gave the bride away.
