Australian troops transporting stores from a beach landing craft as a 3 ton truck, which had been loaded at a base many miles away, rumbled onto the beach north-west of Lae, part of the sea, land and air operations that resulted in the trapping of 20,000 Japanese. Chains had been placed on the wheels in anticipation of heavy going through sand and jungle.
