Description
Jacir Palace or Qasr Jacir, a private residence constructed between 1910 and 1914 for Suleiman Jacir, Mayor of Bethlehem between 1899-1903 and 1903-1907 and one of the wealthiest merchants in Palestine. A Christian Palestinian known for his charity, Suleiman Jacir was forced to sell the Palace following bankruptcy in 1929. It subsequently became Headquarters for the British Army, a prison, a school and more recently, a luxury hotel.
