New Britain. Landing craft take the American assault troops to the inhospitable shores at Arawe. Although comparatively few casualties were incurred in landing despite enemy opposition, some equipment was lost. Troops are endeavouring to haul a Jeep out of the shallow water up on to the coral shore.
