Description
Nose art of 460 Squadron RAAF Lancaster bomber aircraft C-Charlie (serial JA856 AR-6). A dog with a wagging tail underneath which are the words Mk II (probably a reference to the fact that the first C Charlie was so severely damaged by an on ground bomb exploding that it was never flown again). The 18 operations flown by this aircraft are represented by ice creams (Italy), stars containing the letter B (Berlin) and kangaroos (other) and the single beer mug containing an M is probably Munich. This aircraft was lost over Munich during operations on the night of 2-3 October 1943.
