Description
New Guinea. This landing barge laden with equipment moves forward through the rough seas to land on the beach. Australians advancing from Sio along the coast through flooded streams and tracks knee deep in mud, met Americans moving down the coast from Saidor. The linking up of the two forces finished the grim Huon Peninsula campaign in which the great bulk of the 14,000 Japanese engaged were destroyed.
