William Illingworth Taylor sketching in the field
Description
Portrait of VX14985 William Illingworth Taylor, staff artist with AIF News, working on a pencil sketch. He is in a seated position with his paper on his lap and his artists materials spread about him. The sketch was made by Walter Beaumont, an artist with the Military History Section. The drawing is mounted on brown paper, on which Sgt Taylor has noted under the drawing that the pair were in the Lebanese mountains and were "detailed to instruct intelligence personnel in the art of panoramic sketching" at the time.
