Description

Mr Norman Barry-Maine, a visiting British freelance journalist, is seated in a bosun's chair in the Guided Missile Destroyer HMAS Hobart. He was being prepared for return by highline to a Wrangell class ammunition ship USS Diamond Head (not pictured). During his brief visit, he wrote an article on warships in the Gulf of Tonkin for publication in two Melbourne papers. Several unidentified sailors assist him while Lieutenant Commander Graeme Harris observes the activity in the background.
