A US carrier-based Skyraider is observed from the Guided Missile Destroyer HMAS Hobart during operations in the Gulf of Tonkin. This aircraft was used to spot and report on the accuracy of the ship's naval gunfire support firings. From the information relayed, the ship would then adjust the ranges of the guns in order to destroy targets ashore.
