Description

RAN guided missile destroyer HMAS Hobart (II) D39 has docked at Subic Bay, the Philippines headquarters of the US Seventh Fleet. HMAS Hobart is completing its first deployment to Vietnam, and has been attached to the US Seventh Fleet for six months. The Hobart is being relieved by HMAS Perth (II) D38. Hobart's guns have fired more than 10000 rounds at 1050 targets off the coast of Vietnam. Here Lieutenant Commander Robert Graeme Harris (left), of Belgrave Heights, Vic, Gunnery Officer of HMAS Hobart, is in the operations room of the Hobart, handing over to Lieutenant Commander Geoffrey Wayne Furlong, of Neutral Bay, NSW, Gunnery Officer of HMAS Perth.
