Description

HMAS Sydney (III) is transporting troops from Australia to Vung Tau, South Vietnam. During the trip, troops are taking the opportunity to learn about the ship's operations and the tasks of the seamen. Here three privates from the 1st Battalion, The Royal Australian Regiment (1RAR) are being shown the rubber Zodiak sea rescue craft carried on HMAS Sydney. Left to right: Private (Pte) Tony Cameron, of Brisbane, Qld; 1201289 Pte Terrence (not Terence) William (Terry) Hippisley, of Brisbane, Qld; Pte John Muldoon, of Tocumwal, NSW; and Leading Seaman (LS) Peter Smith, of Brisbane, Qld.
