Florence, Italy. 9 October 1944. The body of 405814 Pilot Officer (PO) Hudson Garth Ainslie RAAF, No. 111 Squadron RAF, wrapped in the Union Jack flag is carried into the Florence British War Cemetery for burial, a padre leading the procession. PO Ainslie was killed on 2 October 1944 when he was hit by an aircraft which crashed whilst landing at Florence, Italy. (Donor P. Laughlin)
