Huon Peninsula, New Guinea. Three Australian-manned Matilda tanks of Headquarters Troop, Squadron, 1st Australian Armoured Regiment get their daily check-over by crew. Note the chalk markings giving weight 25 ton, length 18' 3", width 8' 3", height 8' 5". The tank marked 'B' is nicknamed Apollo. The tank nicknamed Adonis is in the centre.
