A plaque is unveiled at Scotts' Shipbuilding and Engineering Shipyard at Greenock on the Clyde to mark the start of construction of Australia's second Oberon class submarine, HMAS Otway. On that day, the first hull section of the submarine was placed on the keel blocks. This firm won the contract to build four Oberon class submarines for the RAN.
