Nadzab, New Guinea. Squadron Leader (Sqn Ldr) J. Hampshsire of Sydney, NSW, walks back to his tent after a shower on his return from an attack on Japanese positions in the South-West Pacific. Sqn Ldr Hampshire is flying RAAF manned US Army Air Force Liberator aircraft with No. 65 Squadron of the Fifth Air Force. By 5 July 1944 Wing Commander Hampshire became the first commander of No. 24 Squadron RAAF.
