Kantara, Egypt. March 1918. A panoramic view of the military camp at Kantara, a base set up to service the Palestine forces. Wharves have been created to allow a number of large ships in the Suez Canal to berth simultaneously, in order to discharge material, provisions and mail. Many miles of metalled roads were built on the sand and RAF hangars also built at the rear of the camp. (Donor W. S. Osborne-White)
