Description
Papers of engineer VE165014 Major (later Colonel) Roydon Arthur Milledge documenting his service before and during the Second World War with 2/7 and 2/12 Field Regiments, Royal Australian Artillery (RAA). They comprise: (i) two small diaries for 1940 (largely uncompleted) and 1941, the latter with daily notes outlining events and Milledge's activities while serving in Palestine and North Africa, particularly at the defence of Tobruk, where he commanded a field artillery battery between June and September (ii) notebook with manuscript notes, with illustrations, on artillery (1927) (iii) a photograph album (iv) service and personal papers, including an identity card, personal Record Book, valedictory news clippings and curriculum vitae.
