Western Desert, North Africa. 18 April 1942. Group portrait of Russian airmen who have flown to the Western Desert from Moscow, to chat with RAF officers. The Captain (centre) bears three decorations, one of these awards is in recognition of 500,000 kilometres of flying without an accident. These men have taken part in raids on Germany.
