Western Desert, Libya. 4 June 1942. Douglas A-20 Boston bomber aircraft of the South African Air Force are playing a notable part in the present desert operations. Among their achievements have been an accurate raid on Derna Harbour and the bombing of an enemy position with such deadly effect that our ground forces overcame it with little opposition. They have made many raids on enemy transport columns and in one of these attacks thirty direct hits were scored on groups of motor transport. In the foreground bombs on bomb trolleys are waiting to be loaded in the bomb bay of the aircraft.
