Description

Western Desert, Libya. 18 June 1942. A camouflaged German Fieseler Storch Fi-156C aircraft which was captured intact on the Libyan battlefront. The aircraft is a bizarre-looking monoplane which can land in 19 yards at a speed of less than thirty miles per hour. German staff officers arrived in these machines during the Nazi occupation of Paris, France. The RAF roundel on the fuselage and markings on the tail with code letters NM and ZS have been painted on the aircraft.
