Western Desert, Cyrenaica, Libya. 2 November 1942. Sergeant J. M. Stevens of Catreol, Ontario, Canada, Royal Canadian Air Force (right), who destroyed one Junkers Ju-52 and set the troop lorry on fire, lights up a cigarette with Sergeant Nettleship of Roseville, NSW, who led the attack after they returned to base. Long range fighter aircraft of the RAF destroyed six Ju-52 transport aircraft and damaged others, shot up troops on parade and set fire to a heavily laden troop lorry in another of their daring sweeps. They caught the Junkers just after they had landed on El Adem aerodrome.
