Description
An unidentified Australian Staff Sergeant (SSgt) and a Japanese assistant, prepare to lay a fuse to destroy a mine found on a small beach. The officer is from an Australian Bomb Disposal unit of the British Commonwealth Occupation Force (BCOF), who were responsible for destroying live armaments and many high explosives left over from the Second World War. Note the bomb on the unit patch on the officer's left sleeve.
