Description
Western Desert, Egypt. 5 November 1942. Bombs on trolleys are being taken out to load the Wellington bomber aircraft. With an average of 800 sorties a day and dropping something like 100 tons of bombs every night, the Allied Air Forces have kept up their remorseless pounding of the Axis. In the 'Shuttle Service' armourers are working full time. As fast as one aircraft takes off with a load of bombs they roll out another load ready for the next aircraft to land and reload. This has been going on from dawn till dusk every day and all day with almost monotonous regularity since the offensive began.
