Western Desert, North Africa. 22 November 1942. Riggers and fitters of one squadron have made their home in a wrecked Stuka aircraft. Allied Air Force squadrons are moving rapidly in the Western Desert. Following close on the advancing armies they are occupying enemy airfields at short notice. Fighters have been in action a few hours after the enemy have gone on aerodromes just behind the front line. Our striking forces are moving forward as well. The great task of keeping the air force well placed to continue hammering the enemy has been carried out with amazing skill and efficiency. Urgent supplies needed by the Army are being rushed to the most forward area by transport aircraft of the RAF. Petrol, ammunition, food and water are being flown from supply bases to advanced fighting units. But as the battles carry the Allies farther into enemy territory the air bases of supply move forward as well. The entire unit personnel help to move a squadron suddenly ordered ahead to occupy a new base and establish a camp area.
