Studio portrait of 1461 Private (Pte) Samuel John Fuller, 33rd Battalion. A labourer from Narrabri, NSW prior to enlistment, Pte Fuller embarked with the Battalion's headquarters section from Sydney on HMAT Marathon on 4 May 1916 having put his age down as 40. On 12 March 1917, aged 46, he died of wounds received in action and was buried in the Boulogne Eastern Cemetery, France.
