Fox, Henry C. (Stoker, d.1941)
Description
Letters of Stoker Henry C. Fox to his aunt Dolly between March and September 1941. They concern mainly the places he visited while serving on the sloop HMAS Parramatta, including India, Aden and Port Sudan, and the routine and monotony of ship life, with some description of conditions on board, and of his duties and activities (the letters are censored). Includes a card with a photograph of the Parramatta. Fox was killed on 27 November 1941 when the Parramatta was sunk in the Mediterranean by a German U-Boat.
