New Guinea. Natives arrive at a camp site with barges heavily laden with bananas and vegetables for transportation to Port Moresby. A scale of barter has proved very satisfactory not only from the Army point of view but also for the native tribes who previously were unable to obtain supplies of tobacco, matches and preserved meat.
