Studio portrait of 7427 Private (Pte) Rupert Clarence Darby, 28th Battalion, of Cunderin, WA. A farm hand prior to enlistment, Pte Darby embarked from Fremantle with the 22nd Reinforcements on SS Ormonde on 13th March 1918. On 13th October 1918 he died in Fovant Military Hospital having contracted broncho pneumonia and was buried in the Fovant Parish Churchyard, England.
