USS Helena (CA-75), a Baltimore Class Heavy Cruiser docked in Kure harbour. The visit was part of a tour of the Western Pacific. During her Far Eastern tour she carried out a schedule of large scale fleet exercises off Okinawa, and visits to Japanese ports. Later the USS Helena made three Korean War cruises.
