Description
HMS Triumph, a Royal Navy Colossus Class Light Fleet aircraft carrier noses into a Kure dock. Kure was a former Japanese naval base and arsenal. Sailors line the sides of the ship and look into the water as it makes it way to the dock. Note the British flag flying from the flag pole on deck. HMS Triumph was cruising Japan when the Korean War broke out, and went on to play a key role in the early stages of the war.
