Description
Postcard of the Punt on the darling River near Bourke, NSW. Postcard depicts the wharves at Bourke seen from up stream. The Punt can be seen ferying horse and buggy across the river in the foreground. Postcard was sent to C.E.W. Bean in October 1910 by A.E. Boyd of the Sydney Morning Herald. Caption on the reverse of the postcard reads "Dear Mr. Bean. Visited the 'old port' today and I thought of the 'Dreadnouhgts of the Darling' and you as I stood and looked at the river. Your delineation of the characters on your dreadnough much appreciated here. Very dusty and hot with a Darling shower thrown in. I supposed you are now in the rush and hustle of London town. Best wishes for Christmas and New Year".
