General Douglas MacArthur, Commander-in-Chief of the United Nations Command, steps from the ladder of his aircraft onto a tarmac in Korea. He is accompanied by other unidentified officers. The aircraft is probably General MacArthur's personal aircraft, the USAF Lockheed Constellation he named 'Bataan'. MacArthur was to meet with Lieutenant General Walton Harris “Bulldog” Walker, commanding general of the US Eighth Army at Taegu on the 24th of November 1950. MacArthur had been flown to Korea from Japan to meet with Walker to urge him to push all of his strength forward against the Chinese. The renewed US/ ROK-A offensive had begun again that day, but Walker did not put all of his strength into the attack. His intelligence reports from the frontline contradicted Macarthur’s intelligence, so he advanced with caution. Even so, when the Chinese launched their own offensive the following day, the Eighth Army were put into retreat.
