Description
North Korea. October 1950. The last action picture taken in Korea of the late 2/37504 Lieutenant Colonel (Lt Col) Charles Hercules Green DSO (left). He is returning with Brigadier Coad, Commanding the British Commonwealth Brigade (centre), from their reconnaissance when the Australian battalion encountered opposition a half mile east of Chongju on the morning of 29 October. Lt Col Green was mortally wounded in the evening of 30 October as he turned in to sleep. He died at a nearby hospital at 8pm on 1 November.
