Description

Tripolitania, Libya. 6 February 1943. Twisted girders and iron sheeting are all that is left of one of the great hangars on the airfield at Castel Benito, near Tripoli. Bombs from Allied aircraft caused tremendous damage to the aerodrome installations and aircraft. Almost hidden by girders in the background is the wreck of a large Italian aircraft.
