Description
Giant British Centurion tanks gave a dramatic display of weight and gun power when they moved in with the spearhead of British Commonwealth troops in the UN October offensive. Here two crew members sit on the front of the turret of the Centurion, while it stands by on a hillside in Korea. Chinese troops were demoralised by the sustained battering given to their strong points by the Centurions, which crushed under their massive treads the spots which they did not blow apart. Note the damage to the vegetation on the hillside.
