Tel El Kebir, Egypt. August 1942. A cross marks the grave in the Tel El Kebir War Memorial Cemetery, Plot 1, Row K, Grave 1, of 404254 Sergeant (Sgt) Cormack Terence McLoughlin RAAF, of No. 458 Squadron RAF, who died 2 August 1942. Sgt McLoughlin's promotion to Flight Sergeant had probably not reached his unit before his time of death. He was the son of Terence and Margaret Jane McLoughlin of Ashgrove, Qld. Tel El Kebir lies 110 kilometres north-north-east of Cairo.
