A cross and wreath mark the grave in the Alexandria (Hadra) War Memorial Cemetery, Plot 1, Row H, Grave 25, of 402080 Sergeant (Sgt) Richard Ronald Thomson RAAF wireless operator, of No. 203 Squadron RAF, who died 25 June 1942. Sgt Thomson's promotion to Flying Officer had probably not reached his unit before his time of death. He was the son of Dr Ronald Magimie Thomson and Noeline Thomson of Ashfield, NSW. Hadra is a district on the eastern side of Alexandria.
