A cross marks the mound on the grave in the Heliopolis War Cemetery, Plot 2, Row A, Grave 15, of 401708 Sergeant John James Manderson RAAF pilot, of No. 3 Squadron RAAF, who died 6 August 1942. He was the son of Henry John and Minnie Beatrice Manderson of North Williamstown, Vic. Heliopolis is a major suburb of Cairo.
