Nui Dat, South Vietnam. 1967. 214295 Corporal Des Ceruti of Randwick, NSW, sights through a theodolite while completing a tactical traverse of the Horseshoe in preparation for completing accurate maps of the area. Corporal Ceruti is a member of the 1st Topographical Survey Troop located at the 1st Australian Task Force Headquarters (1ATF) at Nui Dat, in Phuoc Tuy Province. The Horseshoe is a fortified outpost east of the headquarters.
