A final briefing in the jungle for these soldiers from the 7th Battalion, The Royal Australian Regiment (7RAR), before moving out on Operation Finschhafen east of the Task Force Base at Nui Dat. It was 7RAR'S first operation after arriving in the war zone for its second tour of duty. Identified from left to right: 44897 Private (Pte) Robert Edward Hughes, 19 of Port Augusta, South Australia; 4720261 Corporal Allan Aldenhoven, 21, an Aboriginal servicemen from West Beach, South Australia, and 2793082 Pte John Walker, 21, of Coonamble NSW. [Pte Hughes died at Long Binh on 22 April 1970, of wounds received in Phuoc Tuy Province.]
