A cross and stones mark the grave in the Fayid War Cemetery, Plot 2, Row D, Grave 18, of 403833 Sergeant Mervyn William Stanley RAAF, of No. 148 Squadron RAF, who died 7 July 1942. He was the son of Reginald and Petronella Stanley; husband of Ann Stanley of Abermain, NSW. Fayid is a town, twenty kilometres south of Ismailia.
