Western Desert, Egypt. c. November 1941. This Curtiss P-40 Tomahawk fighter aircraft of No. 3 Squadron RAAF was successfully landed by an Australian Sergeant Pilot after he had been shot up in a fight over the Western Desert. The landing gear would not operate. Very little damage was done to the machine and it was soon repaired. The propellers have been bent.
