South Vietnam. 1965-08. 13668 Captain (Capt) Arthur Barry (Barry) Petersen, MC, of Sarina, Qld, a member of the Australian Army Training Team Vietnam (AATTV); Y-Liu Buon Ya, a Rhade chieftain, and Warrant Officer Class 2 (WO2) John (Jock) Roy of Newcastle, NSW, also of the AATTV, taken at Dam San Camp (named after Capt Petersen's Montagnard name) on the occasion of Capt Petersen's farewell from the central highlands of Vietnam after two and a quarter years commanding the thousand strong Montagnard Truong Son Force. Capt Petersen and Y-Liu Buon Ya wear ceremonial Rhade dress. WO2 Roy is wearing a green beret and the silver Tiger-headed badge of the Truong Son Force.
